Out of the storm that have become the new winter of toxic, anxious Oslo Hardcore; gloomy spiral punks Purple-X ascends onto their debut EP with four new tracks. For those of you who have been lucky enough to catch their 2017 demo or have seen them around in Europe for the previous year; you know that they have been notorious at delivering stomps and harmonies in equal dozes; accompanied by general contempt and existential anxiety.
Often described as a combination of contemporary punk bands like Crazy Spirit pulled through the filter of scandinavian hardcore; Purple-X have just ascended on their journey towards their magnum opus, and the Purple X certainly still marks the spot...

Shitty Life has only been around for three years but are one of the hardest working bands in Italy. They released a packed demo in 2015, their self-titled LP in 2016 on Surfin’ Ki Records, worked with various labels including Goodbye Boozy and Spastic Fantastic to release four 7”s (one of which is a team-up with DD Owen of Sick Thoughts!) and their second LP in September- Switch Off Your Head. SL plays powerful punk rock with little to no distortion and intense, sometimes political vocals. Switch Off Your Head has that signature jump’n rock’n roll punk sound Shitty Life has come to be known for, sounding even cleaner and meaner.

Paint It Black/White Out is a perfect example of how less can be more in terms of heaviness. While on paper less abrasive than their past work, the fine tuning that went into it let it surpass the band's old fuzzier brand of heaviness and create a new, more complex and addicting flavor. zelude
